National Claims are delighted to announce a forthcoming charity football tournament, where we aim to raise money and awareness for the prominent UK housing and homelessness charity, Shelter.
This tournament will be held in Manchester on 5th October, with a number of leading firms in their respective fields taking part in what will be the first of its kind run by National Claims. The event is much more than a football tournament however, with a number of other activities happening throughout the day long event for everyone to get involved in.
Shelter have provided unwavering work and support for people who are being devastated by the housing emergency in the UK for well over 50 years now, and people need their support just as much now as they did back when they were founded. Twinned with the work that we are carrying out at National Claims with regards to housing disrepair within London communities and beyond, it was only natural that we would look to raise money for a worthy organisation such as Shelter.
One of Shelter’s primary objectives is to provide safe and stable housing solutions for those in need. Through a network of dedicated professionals and volunteers, Shelter offers vital support to homeless individuals and families, helping them find suitable accommodation and rebuild their lives. Their Housing Advice Helpline and online resources offer valuable guidance, ensuring that vulnerable individuals have access to information and assistance when they need it most.
Shelter goes beyond merely offering shelter; they actively advocate for policy changes and systemic improvements in the housing sector. Their relentless efforts have led to significant advancements in housing rights, influencing government policies and challenging injustices in housing law. This advocacy not only benefits their clients but also contributes to broader social change, promoting a fair and just society.
Additionally, Shelter’s commitment to preventing homelessness is remarkable. Their early intervention programs and outreach initiatives aim to identify and address housing issues before they escalate into a full-blown crisis. This proactive approach saves countless individuals from the trauma of homelessness and empowers them to secure stable housing.
Shelter’s work is not limited to emergency assistance; they invest in education and training programs, helping individuals build essential life skills, access employment opportunities, and regain their independence. By addressing the root causes of homelessness, Shelter ensures that its beneficiaries have a path to a brighter future.
With housing disrepair being such a prominent issue currently, National Claims is working tirelessly to help social housing residents get the help they deserve to get their disrepair issues seen to, whilst also being compensated for further issues that the disrepair might have caused. Having seen these disrepair issues first hand and seeing the negative impact this can have on residents day to day lives, our commitment to helping residents live in a safe and habitable home is resolute.
With the primary goal of the tournament being to highlight the issue of housing disrepair and also raising money for an organisation that helps fight to change the system that allows people to live in poor conditions, we hope to raise awareness for an issue that is prominent in the UK and to start a tradition of similar events in the future.
There are a number of options for how you want to enter the tournament. We are asking for a donation of £250 or £400 to enter. The £400 option includes exciting extras such as receiving customised shirts for your team adorning your business logo.
There will also be post game festivities, including an awards ceremony with drinks and trophies handed out to the eventual winners and best players etc.
