The inaugural charity 5-a-side football tournament finally got underway on the 9th November 2023, with five teams vying for the first ever #kicktrophy alongside bragging rights. With competitive spirits running high, what was never lost was the terrific cause that brought all of us to the heart of Manchester. With Shelter themselves entering a team, they rounded off the tournament which included a number of trusted solicitors within our experienced panel. With 23 games played in total, 119 goals being scored and thankfully no red cards, Clear Law Solicitors came out on top in an entertaining inaugural tournament hosted by National Claims.
The representative for Shelter on the day was Azim, who said “today is a great initiative by National Claims, raising awareness for the levels of housing crisis in this country”. We were honoured to have been able to partner up with Shelter, a prominent housing and homelessness charity in the UK. A natural decision to team up for this tournament, with our shared goals to put an end to uninhabitable living conditions all throughout the UK.
Raising Awareness is the goal
Holding this tournament in Manchester was an apt choice, with housing disrepair being a serious issue, plaguing a number of council owned properties throughout the major city. It isn’t just Manchester where housing disrepair disrupts people’s lives. Up and down the UK, countless families are trying to deal with disrepair at an alarming rate.
